RQ Cities?

RQ Cities?

Postby Gloranphile » Tue Jan 24, 2017 2:57 pm

Hey Loz & Pete,

I am lucky enough to own the RQ 3 Cities book from way back when, and still use it to this day. I know that Midkemia press owns the publication, but is there a chance to get it republished with the Mythras stamp of approval?

They might go for it since Mythras has a larger brand presence than Midkemia, and it might boost sales on both sides. Anyway, just throwing it out there.

I also have a copy of 'Cities', along with 'Carse' too, somewhere.

It's not something we're overly interested in exploring as a license option. That said, cities supplements interest us, so much so that we are busy commissioning some books that concentrate on detailed fantasy cities. Watch this space.

That site is very handy. There is even a spreadsheet generator:

I actually use the Midkemia app too (it works well when the players zig when I thought they'd zag): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.midkemia.citiesencounters&hl=en.

Thanks for the above links, I hadn't seen those before!

Huh, I haven't heard about this supplement before.
Will see if I can get myself a copy somewhere for my RQ-archaeological collection :)

If you have the Chaosium Thieves' World box set, you have most of the content from RQ Cities - which is at heart a rehash of the (very good) Thieves' World city encounter tables.

I do not. Will see if I can find it :) The older the better for my collection.

If you're looking for simply tables of city encounters, there are free ones at DTRPG.

RQ Cities is pretty good and is well worth getting. It has some nice ideas about designing cities.
