Mythic Britain follow-up

Mythic Britain follow-up

Postby skoll » Tue Oct 20, 2015 2:19 am

Loz, is there anything you can tell us about the MB follow-up you mentioned last year?

I'm planning some changes to the last scenarios, but I want to stay compatible with the "official" follow-up.

Also, any chance of getting some kind of schedule estimation? 6 months? 12 months? 24 months?

EDIT: Removed spoilers.

Sorry. I assumed, that the title was enough to let people know, that they should steer away from it if they hadn't read the campaign.

Not really - hence my 'remove the spoilers' request.

Anyhow, there will be a new scenario for the campaign later this year ('Weapons of Night and Day'), plus we'll be releasing a Saxons expansion during 2016 and more scenarios will follow. I can't give a more specific date and I would encourage you to build your own scenarios and let the campaign develop in its own direction.

Thanks.

I have some ideas on keeping the campaign on-going. It's concluding the campaign - the war against Saxons, Merlin mending Britain - I'm at loss with.

So do I understand correctly, that you have no plans to release any kind of ending to the story that was started in Mythic Britain?

No, I didn't say there's no intention of providing an ending. Just that I don't have any timescales for doing so, and that I'd encourage you to do your own development.

I'm particularly interested in "Weapons of Night and Day" scenario that Loz mentioned earlier. Will we see it this year?

Probably next year. I was sketching out some further notes for it yesterday.

I play tested the scenario at a local con in January this year and I wasn't entirely happy with the structure of the scenario. I've therefore decided to rewrite it entirely, ditching the initial premise but retaining the title. The scenario now has a very different focus, offers some insights into NPC motivations, is one of those 'campaign pivotal' adventures (the original was quite a straightforward quest) and is a lot more sophisticated in its approach.
