Can it be configured, or are you saying it's just not possible with these types of boards? I ask because I took a look in my control panel --> Notifications and it says this

"Below is a list of forums and topics you are subscribed to. You will be notified of new posts in either. To unsubscribe mark the forum or topic and then press the Unwatch marked button."

And under 'Edit Posting Defaults' it says "Notify me upon replies by default"

There's hope yet!

I just tried registering over on freeforums.org to ask why I don't receive any email notifications from threads I've posted in

...only I haven't received the email notification to verify my email address

You've got to laugh :D

I think its the way the free forums are configured. 'Free' being the key word here. We could pay and gain more functionality, but aside from this, I don't see a compelling need.

I just received an email notification to one of the threads I'm watching

Perhaps it was a glitch and it's now sorted.

I generally dislike forums, but I REALLY hate forums that don't allow notifications.

I must really like RQ......

You're not getting any notifications?

I wasn't, but I've been getting them for about two weeks now
